Established in 1964, by founder Mr Clark, Maxview remains very much a family-run business with our head office still situated in the countryside of Norfolk.
We have 55 years of experience and expertise in design, development and manufacturing. Building partnerships across the world has allowed us to
become the largest UK manufacturer of TV reception products exporting to Australia, New Zealand and Brazil along with many European countries,
which continues to grow.

Our Story – One man’s passion for innovation
A simple experiment 64 years ago, creating an Aerial to improve TV Reception led to the story we tell today….
1955 – In the beginning
Pictures from the new commercial station could not be received because the distance was too great and although at least one TV dealer tried, he was not successful. Mr Reginald Clark, who at the time was a Sales Representative for Symington’s Soup, decided to take up the challenge!
1955 – The challenge
Knowing very little about TV reception or aerials, Mr Clark went to the Radio Show in London with a ruler and pen and took away some measurement of an aerial and built a prototype. The prototype aerial was hoisted up above his existing Norwich aerial and BINGO! Transmission’s from over 100 Miles away could be viewed!!
1955 – Success was in the air
On the evening on Thursday 19th September 1955, the first picture from the brand new Independent Television Authority filled the screen.
News of Mr Clark’s breakthrough made the national newspapers and was news on the very station he had managed to receive!
1964 – A company is born
The many inquiries that followed led Mr Clark to start his own business. Maxview Aerials Limited was officially formed in 1964 on the outskirts of King’s Lynn, Norfolk.
1970 – Constantly innovating
Mr Clarks flair led to the development of a range of aerials, which evolved to include indoor set tops and a range of touring aerials for the growing caravan market.
1973 – Following in his footsteps
Following in his Father’s footsteps, Allan, joined the company learning the nuts and bolts, Allan started out as a Storeman before becoming an area Sales Rep. In 1980, as the business continued to strive for success, Allan and his older brother were appointed as Joint Managing Directors to work alongside their Father.
1986 – First ever omni directional aerial
January 1986, at the Boat Show, Maxview launched the first truly Omni Directional Aerial, the Omnimax. Patented world-wide, the touring aerial for caravans, motorhomes and HGV’s became one of Maxview’s most successful products.
1986 – Our products hit the high street
Households had started to have more than one TV Set and this meant that TV Signal needed to be distributed and boosted within the home. Maxview Boosters hit the high street and could now be purchased at Texas Homecare and Argos.
1989 – Explosion in demand behind expansion
By this time, aerials had also hit high street retailers, this growing market and the export sales which had grown doubling year on year, meant we needed to increase capacity. Our 25th Anniversary saw the official opening of a new premises. A building on adjacent land was purchased which more than doubled the site to 7 ½ acres.
1990 – Technology Progresses
As technology progressed in the 1980’s, Maxview also recognised that Satellite TV would become a dominant force in TV reception and so began to develop satellite dish systems designed specifically for mobile use. The first of these, the Omnisat, soon developed into an entire range including our first Roof Mounted System.
1991 – European Growth
With so much interest in Maxview products across the UK, interest grew in Europe, with Maxview Germany being formed to satisfy that demand.
1991 – Preparation for Channel 5
Maxview invests in another nearby premises providing an extra 52,000 square feet of storage creating more manufacturing space in the main factory. New installations were needed around the country for people to be able to receive the new fifth television station – Channel 5. This meant that Maxview nearly doubled its workforce and introduced night shifts to meet the increased demand.
2003 – Connexions
Valuable relationships over the years enabled us to form an overseas partnership. Having a factory in China, allowed the business to ensure the highest specification of components and ensure relevant safety standards.
2008 – Global brand partnership
Experts in their own fields we combined resource with two other Partners in 2008 to form OMP, a global brand specialising in supplying quality TV wall mount solutions to the trade.
We put our engineering experience into developing technically advanced Satellite Systems and with this came the launch of our first Fully Automatic System, the Seeker. Operated with a wireless control panel the Seeker added to our expanding range for the Leisure market.
2013 – Export sales boosted
Export sales were boosted further with our first orders being sent to both Australia and New Zealand.
2014 – Celebrating 50 years
Our 50th Anniversary was a perfect year for Allan Clark and his family, when they took over sole responsibility of the management and running of Maxview .
2018 – A new chapter
2018 saw the launch of the Connect, a new chapter in innovation bringing GPS and smart technology to Automatic Satellite Systems.
2020 – Our first Mobile 3G/4G Wi/Fi System Launched
Maxview have been manufacturing TV, Radio and Satellite products for over 55 years. Today – a family run business
Still situated in the countryside of North Norfolk, Maxview remains very much a family-run business with 2nd and 3rd generations involved in the day to day management and customer facing roles. Every single member of our team plays a vital role, from those behind the scenes to our knowledgeable technical customer service and sales teams. Our hard work designing, developing, manufacturing and building partnerships across the world has allowed us to become the largest independently owned British Manufacturers in the industry.
