2×2 MIMO External Antenna – 4G & 5G
What is a 5G/4G External Antenna?
If you have a router or MiFi device, and are looking to improve your signal and coverage, then our 5G/4G external antenna is perfect for you. Our powerful 2×2 MIMO antenna has been designed specifically for vehicles and optimised to work in rural and remote locations.
This antenna has been a part of our very successful and popular Roam WiFi systems since 2019.
Which Routers Are Compatible with the Maxview 5G/4G Antenna?
the 2×2 MIMO 5G/4G External Antenna is most suitable for routers which are 4G and 5G compatible, and have 2 x external antenna ports. The antenna has 2 antennas inside, ensuring the maximum possible speeds for 4G given your coverage.
Which Brand of Router is Compatible with the Maxview 5G/4G External Antenna?
There are several router brands which are commonly sold that have external antenna ports. This includes Teltonika, Netgear, TP Link, Huawei, ZTE and more.
Below is a table of common routers and models which are compatible with our antennas, and a quick guide to the different cell network generations:
UK Cell Network Generations guide:
- 3G: common around the UK but most networks switching it off at the end of 2023
- 4G: most common and most useful, estimated to be around for at least another decade (2033)
- 5G: mostly rolled out in cities at the moment, starting to be rolled out in the countryside, as of 2023
- 5G+: the same 5G, but with a 4 x 4 antenna, using 4 antennas and 4 cables instead of 2

What Frequency is the 5G/4G External Antenna?
The antenna covers all 5G and 4G frequencies up to 6000MHz, with gain of up to 8.8dBi.
What Are The Contents of the 5G/4G Antenna?
- External 5G MIMO 2×2 Antenna
- 2 x SMA to TS9 adaptors so you can attach it to your router
- Clamp for fixing solidly to the roof
How Much Power Does the Antenna Use?
Technically the antenna is not using power as it is passively powered, the router is powered but the antenna is using virtually no power.
How do I Install the Antenna?
Low profile and streamline design for roof mounting, occupies a small roof space for discreet installation. Quick to install with pre-fitted self-adhesive 3M pad, while the internal clamp ensures a long lasting water-tight seal. Reliable data transfer with 2 SMA cables with vibration-proof connectors as standard. Compatible with most 5G/4G Routers. Router not included.
