4G/5G External Antenna
What is a 5G External Antenna?
If you have a router or MiFi device, and are looking to improve your signal and coverage, then one of our 5G external antennas is perfect for you. Our powerful 4×4 MIMO antenna has been designed specifically for vehicles and optimised to work in rural and remote locations. The 4X4 can increase 5G/4G speeds by up to 100% compared to a typical 2X2 MIMO Antenna when coupled with a suitable router.
Which Routers Are Compatible with the Maxview 5G Antenna?
the 4×4 MIMO 5G/4G Antenna is most suitable for routers which are 5G compatible, and have 4 x external antenna ports. The antenna has 4 antennas inside, ensuring the maximum possible speeds for 5G
Which Routers Are Compatible with the Maxview 5G Antenna?
There are several router makes which are commonly sold that have external antenna ports. This includes Teltonika, Netgear, TP Link, Huawei, ZTE and many more.
The 4×4 MIMO 4G/5G Antenna is most suitable for routers that have 4 external antenna ports as the antenna has 4 cables, 1 from each of the antennas in the head.
Below is a table of common routers and models which are compatible with our antennas, and a quick guide to the different cell network generations:
UK Cell Network Generations guide:
- 3G: common around the UK but most networks switching it off at the end of 2023
- 4G: most common and most useful, estimated to be around for at least another decade (2033)
- 5G: mostly rolled out in cities at the moment, starting to be rolled out in the countryside, as of 2023
- 5G+: the same 5G, but with a 4 x 4 antenna, using 4 antennas and 4 cables instead of 2

What Frequency is the 5G External Antenna?
The antenna covers all 5G and 4G frequencies up to 6000MHz, with gain of up to 8.8dBi.
What Are The Contents of the 5G External Antenna?
- External 5G MIMO 4×4 Antenna
- 4 x SMA to TS9 adaptors so you can attach it to your router
- Clamp for fixing solidly to the roof
How Much Power Does the 5G External Antenna Use?
Technically the antenna is not using power as it is passively powered, the router is powered but the antenna is using virtually no power.
How do I Install the Antenna?
Low profile and streamline design for roof mounting, occupies a small roof space for discreet installation. Quick to install with pre-fitted self-adhesive 3M pad, while the internal clamp ensures a long lasting water-tight seal. Reliable data transfer with 4 SMA cables with vibration-proof connectors as standard. Compatible with most 5G/4G Routers. Router not included.
Can I install my Roam 5G Antenna through an existing hole?
Yes, with our Roam 5G Raiser Bracket you have the flexibility to mount your 3G/4G/5G Antenna anywhere on your roof without entering the cables directly below the Antenna. This allows you to route the cables through your existing hole using the supplied extension cables and cable entry cover.
