Roam Basecamp Portable WiFi Solution
No roof mounting, no holes & no fixed location!

Our new Roam Basecamp portable WiFi solution is a flexible and versatile omni-directional 4G WiFi Internet solution. Suitable for a range of different leisure applications, including vehicle and static home applications where drilling a hole in the roof is not desirable.

In addition it is ideal for small portable business applications i.e:

  • Outdoor show vendors
  • Fast food trailers
  • Garden offices 
  • Other similar applications

Supplied with a Router from our Maxview Roam System, which is tried and tested with 5 years on the market. This is fully enclosed inside a compact but powerful weatherproof antenna assembly and can be easily accessed to change the data SIM card provider. As the router is located in the antenna assembly, there is no signal lost due to long cable runs, optimising 4G and WiFi reception.

It includes a secure fast slide-in, rust resistant fixing bracket, allowing the system to be temporarily mounted to walls, poles, tripods or any other suitable, secure method onto your vehicle or any other suitable application. (Reference Maxview’s accessories below).

Cabling can be fed simply into the vehicle through an open window, door, or roof light. Only a single cable is required to the antenna, using Power over Ethernet (PoE) to power the router, meaning there are no limitations on cable length. The PoE adaptor also features an additional port for connecting a wired device such as a laptop or TV.

What does it do?

The Roam Basecamp Portable WiFi Solution uses a powerful antenna and a 12v 4G router which provides your motorhome WiFi or Caravan WiFi etc.

The Roam Basecamp helps you to get better internet in two ways.

  • Firstly the Roam Basecamp uses 4G mobile data in order to create a reliable WiFi hotspot. By using the antenna it can often pick up usable signals where your phone can’t.
  • Secondly where a direct WiFi source is available the Roam can be used to connect to an existing WiFi hotspot. Ensuring data is only used when necessary. 
  • Overall the Roam Basecamp acts as an ideal Motorhome or Caravan WiFi booster to keep you connected.

Suitable for DIY installation

By a competent DIYer, only 1 wired connection into your leisure vehicle required (through an open window, door or skylight). Fully illustrated, step by step installation instructions included for a quick fitting.

Will it work in Europe?

Yes, it will work in Europe. The Roam Basecamp works across the UK and Europe but this is dependent on data provider and contract.

      • The Roam Basecamp is designed to work with any data service provider so you are free to use whatever network works best for you! You can use your provider if you already have one in place alternatively if you are choosing a network provider for your Roam it’s worth considering coverage for intended travel alongside the best deals and usage.

        If you travel to Scotland, EE’s coverage is regarded superior, whilst Vodafone proves popular for those travelling into Europe. The Three network is generally considered to offer competitive deals. Please check limitations of your network provider and Data SIM, especially when travelling abroad, the number of days abroad, usage and restrictions and roaming charges. It is always a good idea, when travelling abroad to carry a spare SIM which doesn’t have a shelf life or expire if not used.
